Canon 5D MK2 Seaplanes

06.2009 | A friend asked me to take some pictures at a seaplane meeting in Switzerland, i took my 5D and ended up filming a bit. Here is the Result.

It was very freestyle, no planning at all. I took the 5D mk2, a Steadycam (Glidecam 3000) and a tiny tripod. The Movie was entirely shot in manual mode (Yea!) with the 24-70mm L Lens. There is no color correction. I converted the clips into ProRes422 for the 2h edit in FCP. I used the one-click camera stabilizer “smooth cam” for two shots. Its all 30 fps.

Oh, the flight was fantastic, I was so concentrated about holding the camera steady that I nearly forgot to watch for myself.

Kevin
